Bria's Bio:
Bria
Kelly is a 16-year-old Virginia
native and honor roll student who has been performing since age 11.
Bria
started out by performing our National Anthem for local and regional sports
teams, the Air Force and Navy, and for political, civic, charitable, law
enforcement and veterans’ organizations.
At age 11, she won the Philadelphia Eagles’ National Anthem contest, and
performed for 45,000 fans at an NFL game (just like 1st season winner of America's Got Talent, Bianca Ryan!)!
She has also performed for the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore
Orioles. She has performed the Anthem at
large venues featuring Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, and Darius
Rucker. In all, Bria has performed the
Anthem over 40 times to a combined audience of over a quarter-million people! And she was the first official performer of Nashville’s CMA Music
Fest 2010 by singing the Anthem there at Bridgestone Arena.
Bria
won Altavista, Va’s 2009 Colgate Country Showdown singing contest
and competed in the state finals. Bria
won Altavista’s 2011 Texaco Country Showdown contest, and went on to win the
West Virginia-Virginia State Finals.
Bria
won Eagle97’s (WGH-FM) WinterBlast Challenge contest, and as a
result, she was featured by Eagle97 throughout the year, and opened
WinterBlast 2012 on the main stage at the Hampton Coliseum.
Bria
won “The Performers of Hampton Roads”.
Bria performed her original song (“May Her”) at Norfolk’s Chrysler Hall during the 2011
Hampton Roads Gala, where she was selected the winner.
Bria
was one of only 82 teens nationwide to be selected for the Grammy Foundation’s
“Grammy Camp 2011”, in Los Angeles,
CA. While there, she was coached by the likes of
Darryl Brown (songwriter for Keith Urban) and Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers.
Bria
performed at Nashville’s
Cadillac Ranch in 2008, and returned to perform during CMA Music Fest
2009. Bria has appeared on TV, both on “Nashville
Spotlight”, and also locally regarding her Philadelphia Eagles contest win. Bria kicked off the City of Norfolk’s
25th annual Grand Illumination Parade in 2009, where 100,000 people
heard her sing throughout the streets of Norfolk,
VA.
Bria
writes original songs and plays the guitar, drums and keys, and during 2009 was
the lead singer for The Bria Kelly Band.
She and two other band members opened for Miranda Lambert, and the band
opened for The Carter Twins. Bria was
most recently the lead singer for CoastLand, which played a mixture of rock,
country and blues. CoastLand opened for country
star Craig Morgan.
In
an desire to play a wider variety of music and show off the sensitivity
in her voice, Bria is now writing many original songs and concentrating
on her
acoustic work. She has performed solo at
both The Nashville Palace and The Listening Room in Nashville during CMA Music Fest 2010. Performing acoustically, she has opened for
country stars Darius Rucker, Miranda Lambert, Gloriana, Clay Walker, The Carter
Twins, Jerrod Niemann, Ashton Sheherd, Little Big Town and Josh Kelley.
Bria
is now performing in the Hampton Roads area with fellow musicians Logan
Flurry, Andrew Ballard and Carson Burch under the name "Kindred Place".
